¿Cómo proteger a los niños del sol?

How to protect children from the sun?

A practical guide for parents looking to protect their children's skin

We know how important it is to enjoy the outdoors as a family. But we also know that the sun, while it fills us with energy, can be harmful to children's skin if precautions aren't taken.

Here's a practical guide so you can enjoy the sun without worries, with real, easy-to-apply tips designed for life on the go.

1. Clothing with sun protection: your best ally

Clothing with UPF 50+ sun protection is a smart, hassle-free way to protect your skin. Unlike sunscreen, it doesn't require constant reapplication and works even when wet or covered in sand.

At Badawii, we use certified fabrics that offer comfort and style, so children are safe while they play. Add a wide-brimmed hat and UV-protective sunglasses for complete sun protection.

2. Whenever possible, seek the shade

Shade is essential, especially if your baby is under six months old. You can find shelter under a parasol, a leafy tree, a beach umbrella, or a beach tent with UPF50+ protection.

Avoid direct sun exposure between 10:00 and 16:00 , when UV rays reach their peak and are most harmful.

3. Use sunscreen where clothing doesn't reach.

Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 to exposed areas such as your face, neck, hands, and feet. Reapply every two hours, or more frequently if you sweat or swim.

4. Children under six months? Plenty of shade and, as far as possible, avoid sun exposure

For young babies, under 6 months old, it is best to avoid direct sun exposure, as their skin has not yet fully developed and they are especially vulnerable to ultraviolet radiation.

5. Hydration, comfort and a break when it's hot

Sunny days can tire children out more quickly. Be sure to offer them water frequently , find shady places to rest, and watch for signs of discomfort or redness.

Protecting well isn't about complicating things, it's about anticipating problems.

Combining sun-protective clothing, some shade, adequate sun protection, and good hydration is enough to enjoy yourself to the fullest without worries.

At Badawii, we always say: the best and most effective protection is the one we enjoy using. Children generally don't like using sunscreen, which is why Badawii was born—as an alternative to traditional sun protection designed to make our children love using it and adopt healthy sun protection habits.
