In Mozambique, the lack of melanin in the skin of people with albinism transforms the sun into a vital threat. There are currently around 30,000 people suffering from albinism in the country, a rate 10 times higher than in Europe or North America. In addition, the scarcity of dermatologists makes the treatment of their lesions very complicated, leading to many ending up suffering severe cases of skin cancer.
To combat this tremendous injustice, we have joined ISDIN and the Fundación África Directo in a comprehensive project to support people with albinism, through which healthcare, treatment and surgery for sun lesions, and education on photoprotection will be provided to this at-risk group.
As a brand founded by a dermatologist, our mission to protect skin knows no borders; for this reason, we are joining this cause by contributing what we do best: protecting skin and educating about the risks of inadequate exposure.
