It's important to take good care of your swimsuit with sun protection to prolong its lifespan. The sun, salt water, chlorine, sand, and sunscreens can damage and deteriorate your swimsuit, but with proper care , it will stay in good condition all season long.
Rinse it well with water after each use
Rinse your swimsuit in cold water after each use. If washing is necessary, hand wash it. Fill your sink with cold water and add a small amount of mild soap. Wash gently and rinse thoroughly with cold water. Do not soak your swimsuit for extended periods, as this damages the fibers and causes them to lose their elasticity. Do not wring or squeeze your swimsuit vigorously , as this weakens the elastic and directly affects its fit.
Remove trapped sand
Sand can get trapped inside the fibers of swimsuits. This happens with all UPF 50+ swimsuits made of similar fabrics. To remove trapped sand, put your swimsuit in cold water with a little fabric softener. This will loosen most of the sand. Then, hang it to dry, and once dry, gently run your finger over the fabric to remove any remaining sand. With baby products, because they spend a lot of time sitting in the sand, you may need to repeat this process several times to remove all the sand.
How to dry your UPF50+ swimsuit
Don't leave your swimsuit rolled up and don't store it while it's still wet. Hang it to dry in a cool, shady place and avoid direct sunlight. Don't hang your swimsuit to dry on a metal hanger, as this could leave a rust mark that's impossible to remove. Never dry it in the dryer!
Discoloration
Sunlight, salt water, and high chlorine levels can, over time, damage your swimsuit fabric and cause the color to fade. Rinsing thoroughly with fresh water after use, being careful when applying lotions, and avoiding leaving it to dry in the sun will help keep the colors vibrant.
Cream stains
Sunscreen can leave stains on fabric that are difficult to remove, so be careful when applying it. We recommend applying it 20 to 30 minutes before sun exposure to allow for complete absorption.
Rough surfaces
Rough surfaces like concrete, benches, pool edges, and other rough materials can damage your swimsuit fabric, snag it, or create worn areas. Try to avoid excessive rubbing against rough or uneven surfaces.
